Trying to adapt US aerator fitting to my faucet

Hi there, my cats have gotten into the terrible habit of demanding to drink from the faucet, so I've ordered an automatic faucet thing which plugs into the aerator on the end of a US faucet.

Unfortunately, my faucet here doesn't have an aerator and the part that attaches the spigot to the piping has the threads on the outside, while aerators have threads on the inside.

Any suggestions on (ideally) an adaptor to convert the outer-threading spigot attachment straight to aerator threading, or alternatively a cheap faucet that has aerator threadings?
